Rogue’s Somer Orange Honey Ale

Rogue’s Somer Orange Honey Ale was delightfully “meh,” but other beer drinkers seem disagree. It currently has a 79 on Beer Advocate.

I found this beer severely discounted at my local store, which is why I wanted to give it a shot. It was $2 for a 22-ounce bomber – a deal you rarely find for a beer from a quality craft brewery. This is basically a lawnmower beer. It’s something I could easily drink multiple bottles of and not particularly care one way or another. The smell moves slightly more toward orange, but there’s no strong taste of orange or honey. It’s only 10 IBUs, so you can imagine that there is barely any hoppinss to the beer, either.

This would be a good starter beer for a day of drinking or simply something to open up and enjoy with a friend. Because it’s from Rogue you know it’s not going to suck, but it’s also nothing special worth searching for.
