About/Contact

headshot-webI’m Bryan Roth, a beer enthusiast and homebrewer. This site is a fun way for me to log my thoughts about beer and the beer industry. Posts range widely, from a rare review to socio-cultural analysis. My writing has won several awards, including recognition from the North American Guild of Beer Writers.

It should be noted that I’m not drunk when I’m writing these entries … just having a bit of fun with the title. Not only do I (obviously) support moderation and responsible drinking habits, I know their importance.

My goal with this blog is to take an “academic” approach to beer, learning more about the intricacies of the brewing process, the industry and sharing what I’ve learned to help educate myself and other beer lovers. In addition to my writing on this blog, I’ve contributed to All About Beer, Beer Advocate and Good beer Hunting.

Want to talk beer, writing or marketing? I’m always happy to chat. Email me and follow me on Twitter and Instagram.

You can also “meet” me on this Dec. 2014 podcast with Tales from the Cask, a Feb. 2015 Q&A with Beer is Your Friend and in this video – an interview I did with Josh of Short On Beer in July 2013:

  3. Pretty nice post. I simply stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to mention that
I’ve really loved browsing your weblog posts. After all I will be subscribing in your feed and I am hoping you write again very soon!

    • Thanks very much! I honestly haven’t ever even seen that beer. It might be regionally distributed, so I wouldn’t see it in NC. What are some of your other favorite brews?

      • Yes, Nordeast is a domestic beer brewed in Minnesota. It is pretty cheap and I am a poor college student so we are a perfect match. I also prefer Shiner bock and Fat Tire.

      • Yes, I remember what those days were like. Lots of Blue Moon and Yuengling with some Sam Adams sprinkled in when I wanted to splurge. I’m very fond of Fat Tire myself! Happy (craft beer) days are certainly ahead.

  6. Great blog. Homebrewing is the only way to go. At tne moment I’m having a thing about Citra. If you look at my blog you can skip everything just look at the beer page. I am now officially a follower.

  7. Great blog and I love the six-pack project! (although to have no San Diego brew hit the Cali list is just sinful!) About to jump into the homebrewing universe myself on a mission to make Black IPAs. I’ll point your site out to the rest of my beer loving crew. Cheers!

    • Thank you! I’m yet to make a black IPA, but I have been honing a session IPA recipe the last few months. It’s a wonderful hobby that’s introduced me to many great people. I hope you have as much of a good time as I do!

… and if you’d like to contribute to the Six-Pack Project, let me know.
